Glass "Shard" Plate

This piece was constructed with a solid backing but from there, it was all pieces of glass cut/nipped into pieces and placed together as tight as possible. To fill in the gaps, I used a combination of powder and larger sized "frit"/fine glass. Then it all goes into the kiln to melt it together, then into the kiln again to slump it, to give it a slight slope shape. You can use it (though the surface is slightly rough, you could use a soft brush to gently clean it), or just keep it on display.  With a light behind it, especially at night, you see all of the pieces that went into the plate. Measures 12" round with a slight lip around the edge.
